Typhoon Neneng exits PAR; rains still likely in parts of VisMin

Typhoon Neneng (international name: Nesat) has officially exited the Philippines' area of responsibility, but its trough may still bring rains in portions of the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

In its weather bulletin issued at 11 p.m. on Sunday, PAGASA said Typhoon Neneng’s trough and the convergence of its circulation with the southwesterly winds can bring occasional rains.

This is expected over portions of Visayas and MIMAROPA, along with the northern and western portions of Mindanao.

However, said PAGASA, all tropical cyclone wind signals (storm signals) have been lifted.

Occasional gusts with a strength reaching strong breeze to near gale are also expected in the western area of Luzon and the Visayas, and the eastern part of Central Luzon.

Typhoon Neneng left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 8 p.m. on Sunday, and is projected to move westward over the West Philippine Sea until Monday morning.

It will then turn west southwestward for the rest of Monday through Wednesday, with further intensification expected, with the current maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center.
