Yellow rainfall warning up over Dinagat Islands, Surigao, Agusan del Norte


State weather bureau PAGASA raised the yellow rainfall warning over Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and parts of Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Norte at 6 a.m. on Sunday.

The affected areas in Surigao del Sur are Bislig, Lingig, Hinatuan, Barobo, Tagbina, Carrascal, Cantilan, and Madrid.

In Agusan Del Norte, the affected areas are Cabadbaran, Tubay, Kitcharao, Santiago, and Jabonga.

These areas will have heavy rains measuring 7.5 to 15 mm in one hour which may continue in the next two hours, due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

Flooding and landslides are possible in areas prone to these hazards.

Residents are advised to monitor the weather condition.

Light to moderate to at times heavy rains meanwhile are expected over the following areas:

  • the rest of Surigao del Sur;
  • the rest of Agusan del Norte;
  • Agusan del Sur;
  • Davao City;
  • Davao del Norte (Panabo, Carmen, Tagum, Samal);
  • Davao de Oro (Pantukan, Maragusan, Mabini, Maco, Mawab, Nabunturan);
  • Davao Oriental;
  • Davao Occidental (Malita, Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos, Sarangani);
  • Sarangani (Malungon, Alabel ,Malapatan, Glan, Maasim);
  • Misamis Oriental (Magsaysay, Gingoog, Medina, Talisayan, Balingoan);
  • Camiguin (Mambajao, Mahinog, Guinsiliban);
  • Zamboanga City;
  • Basilan (Isabela, Lamitan, HMAdjul); and
  • Sulu (Jolo, Indanan, Siasi, Lugus).

 

PAGASA said nearby areas may be affected. 

It advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned to take the necessary actions, monitor the weather condition, and await the next advisory to be issued at 9 a.m. —KG, GMA News
