Signal No. 4 up in 6 Visayas areas as Odette heads for Bohol


Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai) has slightly weakened and is now moving towards the northern portion of Bohol, state weather bureau PAGASA said Thursday.

In the 8 p.m. severe weather bulletin, PAGASA also hoisted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 over the following areas in Visayas:

  • Southern Leyte
  • Southwestern portion of Leyte (Hilongos, Bato, Matalom),=
  • Bohol
  • Central and southern portions of Cebu (Lapu-Lapu City, Cordova, Cebu City, Mandaue City, Consolacion, Liloan, Toledo City, City of Talisay, Minglanilla, City of Naga, Pinamungahan, San Fernando, City of Carcar, Aloguinsan, Barili, Sibonga, Dumanjug, Ronda, Argao, Alcantara, Moalboal, Badian, Dalaguete, Alcoy, Alegria, Malabuyoc, Boljoon, Oslob, Ginatilan, Samboan, Santander)

As of 7 p.m., the center of the eye of the typhoon was located "based on all available data including those from Guiuan, Mactan, and Bohol Doppler Weather Radar over the coastal waters of Pres. Carlos P. Garcia, Bohol."

The weather disturbance weakened to maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour from 195 kph, while its gustiness also slowed down to 255 kph from 270 kph.
