Odette makes second landfall over Dinagat Islands —PAGASA


Typhoon Odette made its second landfall in the vicinity of Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands on Thursday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its Facebook post, PAGASA said Odette hit the land area at 3:10 p.m. The typhoon made its initial landfall over Siargao Island at 1:30 p.m.

PAGASA said Odette will move westward and cross several provinces in Central and Western Visayas regions before emerging over the Sulu Sea Friday.

“After passing near or in the vicinity of either Cuyo or Cagayancillo archipelago, Odette is forecast to cross the northern or central portion of Palawan tomorrow afternoon or evening before emerging over the West Philippine Sea,” PAGASA said in its 2 p.m. bulletin.

Odette has maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 240 km/h, and central pressure of 915 hPa.

It has strong winds extending outwards up to 480 km from the center.

Odette is moving west northwestward at 30 km/h.—AOL, GMA News
