Eastern Visayas to have rains due to LPA
A low pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas on Sunday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Flash floods or landslides may occur during times of moderate to heavy rains.
At 3 a.m. Sunday, the LPA was located in the vicinity of Tanauan, Leyte.
However, it has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression, and may dissipate in the next few days, PAGASA weather specialist Ezra Boquiren said.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) meanwhile is affecting Northern Luzon and will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and the Ilocos Region.
Metro Manila and rest of the country on the other hand will have generally fair weather.
These areas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
