ITCZ to cause rains over NCR, other parts of the country
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) currently affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will bring scattered rains over the National Capital Region and other areas on Monday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Aside from NCR, the areas of Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region and Western Visayas will also have scattered rain showers, thunderstorms, and cloudy skies due to the ITCZ.
Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms due to the shearline or northeasterly surface windflow.
The rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods or landslides may occur in all the above mentioned areas during times of moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the seaboards of Northern Luzon, with waves reaching up to 4 meters.
Elsewhere, coastal waters in the country will be slight to moderate.
PAGASA said it is monitoring a tropical depression and a tropical storm both outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
