Bising weakens further into extratropical cyclone outside PAR

Tropical Storm Bising downgraded into an extratropical cyclone after exiting the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Sunday morning, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its severe weather bulletin issued at 11 a.m., PAGASA said the weather disturbance transitioned into  a gale-force extratropical cyclone, but it is affecting coastal waters.

However, PAGASA warned mariners and small ships to avoid sea voyages as moderate to rough seas will be expected over northern Luzon seaboards.

"In the next 24 hours, under the influence of an extratropical cyclone outside PAR, moderate to rough seas will be experienced over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon (1.5 to 3.5 m) and the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon (1.2 to 3.0 m)," according to PAGASA .

As of 10 a.m., the center of Bising was located 1,500 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon. —Consuelo Marquez/LBG, GMA News
