Trough of TS Surigae to bring isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila
The trough of tropical storm Surigae and localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, PAGASA said Wednesday.
In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the center of Surigae was estimated at 1,165 kilometers east of Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
It is moving northwestward at 10 kph.
PAGASA said Surigae may intensify into a severe tropical storm over the next 24 hours, and is forecasted to enter the Philippine area of responsibility as Bising on Friday.
According to PAGASA , moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Bataan, Rizal, Cavite, and Quezon within the next two hours.
Meanwhile, the same conditions are currently being experienced in Makati, Metro Manila as well as Nasugbu, Lian, and Tuy in Batangas.
The weather agency said this may persist within 2 hours and affect nearby areas.
It also advised affected residents to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
