Dry season begins in some parts of the Philippines —PAGASA

The dry season has officially started in some areas in the Philippines.

According to Nathaniel “Mang Tani’ Cruz’s report on “24 Oras,” warm winds from the Pacific Ocean called the easterlies will now prevail over a large portion of the country in the following days.

Cruz said that the dry season was not delayed this year as it usually occurs on the third and last week of March.

PAGASA earlier advised the public to expect warmer days ahead.

This weekend, the temperature in Metro Manila is expected to hit 41°C.

Meanwhile,  the temperature in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, and Catbalogan, Samar is expected to hit 39°C on Saturday and 40°C on Sunday.

Tagbilaran, Cotabato, and Zamboanga City are also expected to experience a temperature of 38°C while the temperature in Tuguegarao may hit 37°C.

In May 2020, the temperature in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro reached 56°C.
