Cloudy skies, rains over Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region due to the LPA and Tail-end of Frontal System


At 3 a.m. on Tuesday, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 65 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, embedded along the Intertropical Convergenze Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

The Tail-end of Frontal System (Shear line), on the other hand, will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon while Northeast Monsoon will be affecting the rest of Luzon, PAGASA reported.

Eastern Visayas and Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms due to the LPA and Tail-end of Frontal System with the possibility of the occurrence of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy with at times intense rains.

Caraga, Western and Central Visayas, Zamboanga del Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the LPA with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to Localized Thunderstorms and flash floods or landslides may occur due to severe thunderstorms.

The eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will have moderate to strong wind speed moving in the Southeast to Northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Luzon and the rest of Visayas wind speed will be moderate to strong moving Northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The wind speed for the rest of Mindanao is light to moderate moving in the Northeast to Northwest direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
