La Trinidad, Benguet registers 9.5°C coldest temperature this Amihan season
The municipality of La Trinidad in Benguet on Monday felt the coldest temperature in the country this Amihan season so far: 9.5°C, according to GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz in a report on GMA News' Unang Balita on Tuesday.
Baguio City meanwhile, had its temperature dip to 10.8°C on Monday.
It was also chilly in Bontoc, Mt. Province, prompting some residents to have bonfires to stay warm.
Tagaytay City in Cavite also enjoyed cold weather on Monday.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) started in November.
On Tuesday, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon, PAGASA said.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.
Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Mindanao meanwhile will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Tail-end of a Frontal System and a low pressure area estimated to be located 170 kilometers southeast of General Santos City. —KG, GMA News
