Amihan to bring cloudy skies, rains over northern Luzon


The effects of the northeast monsoon or amihan will be mostly felt in northern and central Luzon on Saturday, according to PAGASA's early morning forecast.

Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Cagayan and Isabela will have cloudy skies with rains brought about by the northeast monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides occurring during moderate to heavy rains.

Central Luzon, Rest of Ilocos Region, the Rest of Cagayan Valley, Ifugao and Benguet will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon but with  no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms with flashfloods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for northern and central Luzon, and the western section of southern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and eastern Visayas will have moderate to strong wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Mindanao and rest of the Visayas will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
