Amihan to bring light to moderate rains over Cagayan Valley —PAGASA 24-hour forecast
The northeast monsoon or amihan is expected to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains over the Cagayan Valley on Saturday, according to PAGASA.
In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate rains.
Cagayan and Isabela are still dealing with massive flooding as Magat Dam continues to open its spillway gates because of excess water brought on by Typhoon Ulysses. Both provinces have been placed under state of calamity.
The monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said severe thunderstorms may cause flooding and landslides.
At 3 p.m. on Saturday, Ulysses was estimated outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 1,070 kilometers west of Central Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 205 kph.
It is moving west at 20 kph. —JST, GMA News
