Red rainfall warning up over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon


Weather bureau PAGASA raised the red rainfall warning over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon at 5 a.m. on Monday.

These areas will have torrential rain measuring more than 30 mm in one hour and may continue in the next two hours.

The rains are due to Typhoon Quinta (international name: Molave).

Residents are warned of severe flooding in flood-prone areas and areas near river channels.

Landslides may also occur in areas prone to these.

Under red rainfall warning, the advised response is evacuation.

Residents and disaster risk reduction and management offices are advised to take the necessary precautions and monitor the weather conditions.

The next rainfall advisory will be issued at 8 a.m., according to PAGASA. —KG, GMA News
