LPA off Mindanao develops into Tropical Depression Quinta

The low pressure area monitored east of Mindanao has developed into a tropical depression on Friday afternoon and has been named Quinta, PAGASA said.

The LPA intensified and became tropical depression at 2 p.m.

Earlier, PAGASA said Quinta is likely to further intensify as it moves generally northwestward toward the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.

The weather bureau said severe weather bulletins will be issued starting 5 p.m. on Friday. --Ma. Angelica Garcia/KBK, GMA News
