LPA to bring scattered rains over Ilocos, 4 other areas
A low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora and Quezon on Monday, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The monsoon will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga Region.
The rest of the country on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers mostly in the afternoon or evening, due to localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods or landslides may occur during times of moderate or heavy rainfall or severe thunderstorms.
At 3 a.m., the LPA was located 135 km east of Tuguegarao City in Cagayan.
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
