Enteng to exit PAR Sunday; monsoon rain over Luzon, Visayas areas
Tropical Depression Enteng is maintaining its strength as it moves northward over the Philippine Sea, PAGASA reported Saturday evening.
In its 11 p.m. severe weather bulletin, the weather agency said that Enteng would exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday afternoon, and move near or over the southern islands of the Ryukyu Archipelago.
PAGASA said Enteng may further intensify into a tropical storm by Sunday morning.
At 10 p.m. on Saturday, Enteng was 510 kilometers east-northeast of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
Though no tropical cyclone wind signal has been issued, gusty conditions associated with the southwest monsoon may be experienced over Pangasinan, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas in 24 hours.
The southwest monsoon may also bring monsoon rains over the Ilocos Region, Benguet, Abra, Zambales, Bataan, and MIMAROPA as well as occasional rains over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Visayas, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, flooding and rain-induced landslides may occur during heavy or prolonged rainfall.
Due to rough to very rough seas, a gale warning was raised over the seaboards of Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, the western coast of Batangas, the western coast of Occidental Mindoro, including Lubang Island, the western coast of Palawan, Batanas, Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, and Isabela. — DVM, GMA News
