PAGASA announces end of Amihan, start of dry season

PAGASA on Friday said the day-to-day weather in the country will gradually become warmer due to the termination of the Northeast Monsoon or the Amihan Season.

In a statement, the weather agency said the gradual shift of the wind direction from northeasterly to easterly over most parts of the country signified the termination of the Northeast Monsoon and the start of the dry season.

Despite this, PAGASA said isolated thunderstorms are also likely to occur.

As the dry season begins, the agency advised the public to minimize heat stress and optimize the daily use of water for personal and domestic consumption.

Based on data from PAGASA, the maximum temperature for the past five days did no go down below 29°C.
