Northeast monsoon, volcanic activity to bring cloudy skies, isolated rains to Batangas, Cavite


The northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon on Thursday while the Tail End of a Cold Front will be affecting eastern Visayas, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Sorsogon, Masbate and Samar Provinces cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Tail End of a Cold Front and flash floods or landslides may occur due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, and the rest of Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon while occasional gusts may occur especially in coastal and mountainous areas.

Batangas and Cavite will continue to have cloudy skies with isolated rains due to the northeast monsoon and Volcanic Activity.

The weather bureau reported that there is a potential for isolated thunderstorms in the vicinity of the volcano with reduced visibility during ashfall.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to northeast monsoon while they may be intermittent strong winds especially in coastal and mountainous areas.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms and flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed in northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

For the rest of the country, the forecast wind speed is light to moderate and moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will remain light to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
