Scattered rain expected over north Luzon islands – PAGASA
The Batanes and Babuyan Islands could expect cloudy conditions accompanied with scattered rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a cold front, weather service PAGASA predicted in a Saturday afternoon forecast.
The easterlies would meanwhile bring cloudy conditions with rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms over the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of the Cagayan Valley Region, Aurora, and Quezon; as well as partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rainshowers over the rest of the country.
Winds would be strong from the east to northeast over extreme northern Luzon , where coastal waters would be rough.
Over the rest of Luzon, winds would be moderate to strong from the east with moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions.
Winds would be light to moderate from the east to northeast over the Visayas and Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Phanfone (formerly Ursula) was 725 kilometers west of Central Luzon and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Phanfonne had 55 kilometer per hour winds which could gust up to 70 kph and was moving west, and further away from the PAR, at 20 kph. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
