Tisoy no longer has effect on PHL, Amihan to bring rains over Luzon
Typhoon Tisoy no longer has any effect on the Philippines and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, PAGASA has said.
According to its 4 p.m. update, the state weather bureau said the eye of the cyclone was last seen 380 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales carrying maximum sustained winds of up to 95 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
Tisoy continues to move west-northwest at 20 kph.
Cloudy skies and rains are expected over the Luzon in the next hours, mainly due to the Northeast Monsoon or “Amihan.”
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms were forecast over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains are expected to prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA warned residents of these areas to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
For Visayas and Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers should be anticipated. —NB, GMA News
