More areas in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora placed under Signal No. 1 due to Ramon


More areas in Cagayan, Isabela and Aurora were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 on Sunday as Tropical Storm Ramon is expected to bring 30-60kph winds in 36 hours, PAGASA said in its severe weather bulletin.

Below are the areas under TCWS No. 1:

  • eastern portion of Cagayan: Calayan, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Gonzaga, Santa Ana, Lal-lo, Gattaran, Alcala, Baggao, Amulung, Iguig, Tuguegarao City and Peñablanca;
  • eastern portion of Isabela: San Pablo, Cabagan, Maconacon, Tumauini, Divilacan, Ilagan City, Palanan, and Dinapigue; and
  • northern portion of Aurora: Dilasag, Casiguran, and Dinalungan.

 

The eastern portions of Cagayan and Isabela will have light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains.

On Monday, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao and Kalinga will have light to moderate with occasional heavy rains, while Babuyan Islands, Northern Aurora and Quirino will have light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains.

PAGASA warned residents in the above-mentioned areas to take the necessary precautions, especially if they live in areas prone to flooding or landslides. They were also advised to coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices and monitor weather updates.

Coastal waters will be rough over the seaboards of areas under TCWS No. 1, as well as the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon. Sea travel for small seacraft will be risky.

As of 4 a.m. Sunday, the eye of Ramon was located at 415 km east of Casiguran, Aurora.

Ramon has maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

The tropical storm is moving northwest slowly.
