PAGASA: Hagibis still outside PAR, with no significant effect on PHL

Typhoon Hagibis has no significant effect on the Philippines and has a low chance of entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said on Wednesday.

According to the weather bureau's 4 p.m. video update, Metro Manila, northern and Center Luzon, and Mindanao will experience generally good weather with short intermittent rain due to localized thunderstorms. 

Visayas will meanwhile experience generally good weather with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening, Mendoza added.

Hagibis was last estimated at 2,020 km east of northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 200 kph and gustiness of 245 kph while moving northwest at 20 kph. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
