Cloudy, scattered rainshowers expected in Metro Manila
Three weather systems are being monitored by PAGASA on Wednesday, according to an early morning report on the weather forecast.
The southwest monsoon, which will be affecting central and southern Luzon and western Visayas, will bring rains to Metro Manila.
As of 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the center of Tropical Depression Nimfa was estimated at 670 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph and is almost stationary.
Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based to be in the vicinity San Jose, Tarlac.
Central Luzon and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan will have monsoon rains brought about by the southwest Monsoon and the LPA.
The Bicol Region, Western Visayas, CALABARZON and the rest of MIMAROPA will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the Trough of Tropical Depression Nimfa.
Meanwhile, Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that flash floods and landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will remain moderate to rough.
The wind speed forecast for the rest of the country will be moderate to strong moving south to southwest while coastal waters will be moderate to rough. — BAP, GMA News
