LPA to bring scattered rains in Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao region — PAGASA

A low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to PAGASA on Wednesday.

As of 3 p.m., PAGASA said the LPA was located 550 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

The state weather bureau said that Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao region may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA.

On the other hand, Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan may have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.

PAGASA said a gale warning was raised in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Western coast of Ilocos Norte, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Northern Palawan as rough waves are expected due to Habagat.

Fisherfolks and those with small seacraft were advised not to venture out.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA reminded the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides. — Dona Magsino/RSJ, GMA News
