Goring weakens into low pressure area

Tropical depression Goring has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) Friday night, according to the Severe Weather Bulletin issued by state weather bureau PAGASA at 11 p.m.

At 10 p.m.,  the center of the LPA was estimated at 545 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

With this, the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 hoisted over Batanes has been lifted, even as moderate to at times heavy rains are still expected over the Ilocos region and the Babuyan Group of Islands.

Residents in the said areas, especially those living in areas at risk of flooding and landslides are advised to take precautionary measures and to continue monitoring for weather updates.

The advisory said sea travel is risky over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboard of Central Luzon.
