PAGASA bares cyclone names in 2019; Amang, Betty, Chedeng country’s first three

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has disclosed the names of the tropical cyclones that will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in 2019.

Here is the list of the possible names for this year's typhoons:

• Amang
• Betty
• Chedeng
• Dodong
• Egay
• Falcon
• Goring
• Hanna
• Ineng
• Jenny
• Kabayan
• Liwayway
• Marilyn
• Nimfa
• Onyok
• Perla
• Quiel
• Ramon
• Sarah
• Tisoy
• Ursula
• Viring
• Weng
• Yoyoy
• Zigzag 

An average of 20 typhoons or tropical storms each year.

PAGASA has four sets of names which are being used every four years.

In the event that the number of tropical cyclones within the year exceeds 25, an auxiliary list is used. —NB, GMA News
