Coldest temperature this amihan season recorded in Baguio at 12.2 Celsius


Baguio City residents and tourists are piling on their jackets as the temperature in the mountain city has reached 12.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

According to GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz on GMA News' Unang Balita, the said temperature was recorded by PAGASA at 6:30 a.m. on December 1.

It was the coldest temperature recorded this amihan (northeast monsoon) season.

On Sunday, the coldest temperature in Baguio City was 13.4 degrees Celsius which was recorded at 4:50 a.m.

On Monday, warm winds from the east are prevailing, but the cold winds from amihan will be back on Wednesday.

There is a low chance of rain in most parts of the country on Monday.

However, rains are forecast in Northern and Eastern Samar before noon.

In the afternoon, it will rain over Panay Island, Negros Island, Cebu, Bohol, and the Soccsksargen Region.

In Metro Manila, the temperature dipped to 24 degrees Celsius at 6 a.m. on Monday. It will reach 36 degrees Celsius at 12 noon, and 31 degrees Celsius at 7 p.m. —KG, GMA News
