SERIOUS FLOODING

Red rainfall warning still up over Metro Manila, Rizal; 6 provinces now under orange

Residents in flood-prone areas in Metro Manila and Rizal were advised to stay prepared for serious flooding on Saturday evening, as the red rainfall warning is expected to remain raised in these areas for the next three hours.

This, PAGASA said in its 8 p.m. advisory, even as it added that Tropical Storm Karding, which already left the Philippine Area of responsibility on Saturday morning, continued to enhance the Southwest monsoon up until the evening.

Also in its latest update, PAGASA said the orange warning is now hoisted over Cavite, Bataan, Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Bulacan.

An orange level indicates the threat of flooding in low-lying areas and those near river channels.

A yellow rainfall warning remains hoisted over Tarlac, Laguna, Batangas, Northern Quezon.

PAGASA says flooding is also possible in yellow areas.

The rest of Quezon, on the other hand, is expected to experience light to moderate with occasional heavy rains within the next three hours. — MDM, GMA News
