LPA spotted near Ambulong, Batangas


A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated early Friday morning 60 kilometers west of Ambulong, Batangas as the effects of the southwest monsoon will continue to be felt in the western sections of Luzon and the Visayas, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Due to the southwest monsoon, Palawan, Mindoro and western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Meanhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought about by localized thunderstorms.

The residents in these areas are warned that flooding and landslides may occur due to light to moderate rains.

The state weather bureau continues to monitor Typhoon Jongdari, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)  or 2,020 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 145 kph moving in the northeast direction with a speed of 20 kph.

The coastal water condition in the western section of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate but the rest of the country will be slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
