Expect rains in Metro Manila — PAGASA


An Intertropical Convergence zone (ITCZ) will be affecting Palawan and Mindanao on Thursday, the PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

With the weather system, Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. There is possible lightning, occasional heavy rains, strong winds and flash flooding.

Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms with possible lightning, occasional heavy rains, strong winds and flash flooding.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies apart from isolated rainshowers that would be caused by localized thunderstorms. Residents, the weather agency said, could expect possible lightning, occasional heavy rains, and strong winds.

Typhoon Talim as of 3 a.m. on Thursday is estimated 700 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of up to 130 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 160 kph. The weather disturbance is moving in the north northwest direction at 13 kph.

Meanwhile, Tropical Doksuri was spotted 740 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph, gustiness of up to 105 kph and moving west northwest at 18 kph.

Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to strong winds from south to southweast that would cause coastal waters to be moderate to rough.

Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from southeast to south that will cause coastal waters to be slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
