LPA, ITCZ make for rainy Thursday across VisMin

The combined effects of a low pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) are making for a rainy Thursday across the southern half of Visayas and the whole of Mindanao.

Up to heavy rains may be expected in the regions of CARAGA, Northern Mindanao and the Zamboanga Peninsula, according to PAGASA.

Heavy rains can also be expected in Southern Leyte, Bohol, Siquijor, Southern Cebu, Southern Negros, and Lanao del Sur.

Residents in these areas should be wary of flash floods and landslides.

As of 8 a.m. this morning, PAGASA posited the LPA some 315 km east of Surigao City.
