Typhoon Igme moving out of PAR —PAGASA


Tropical cyclone Igme (international name Chaba) has maintained its strength but is now moving out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility, according to the latest weather bulletin from PAGASA before noon Monday.

PAGASA said that as of 10:00 a.m., the center of the typhoon was located 700 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, and is expected to move north northwest at 20 kph.

It was packing maximum sustained winds of up to 175 kph near the center and gusts of up to 215 kph.

Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected within the 600-km diameter of the typhoon.

There are no current tropical cyclone warning signal in any part of the country.

In the next 24 to 48 hours, the typhoon is expected to be at 960 km to 1,600 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes or already outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. —ALG, GMA News
