Typhoon Gener now out of PAR — PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday said Typhoon Gener (international name: Malakas) is not out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

In its 1:00 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said Gener was 525 kilometers (km) north of Basco, Batanes.

However, PAGASA earlier said Gener has intensified further as it moved toward the northern boundary of the PAR and that moderate to heavy rains could be expected within the 450-kilometer diameter of the typhoon.
