Typhoon Dindo intensifies as it moves to exit PAR


Typhoon Dindo intensified slightly as it continues move along its path leading outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

A report on "Balitanghali" said Dindo's eye was last spotted at 1,230 km east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

It packs a maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of 195 kph, and was moving along its north-northeast path at 15 kph.

With its present speed, Dindo is forecast to be out of the PAR before dawn Sunday.

Data from Metro Weather show that pockets of moderate rains will be experienced in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.

Thunderstorms can be experienced in Western Visayas, as well as the Zamboanga Peninsula and some parts of Mindanao. — LBG, GMA News
