Bird videobombs drone shot in Iloilo
A bird was caught videobombing a drone shot in Iloilo City.
As seen in Kuya Kim's report in "24 Oras" on Tuesday, Maymay Mosqueda was doing a Bird's Eye View drone shot of the Pan De Cuzar Island in Concepcion, Iloilo when a bird suddenly appeared on the screen.
"Pag-180 na, dun ko na a-notice na parang may object. Nakita ko 'yung ibon!" Maymay said.
Aside from blocking the view, the bird seemed like it wanted to attack the drone.
"Pumailalim siya and then ako sobrang kaba. Baka sirain 'yung drone. Nataranta na talaga ako," she added.
Maymay gave control of the drone to her cousin's boyfriend, a legitimate drone operator. The bird followed the device all the way to their home, but it was able to land safely.
According to an ornithologist or a bird expert, the bird that videobombed the drone is called a White Bellied Sea Eagle.
Unlike the Philippine Eagle which can only be spotted in a few islands in the Philippines, the White Bellied Sea Eagle can be seen in any part of the country.
It is also mostly found in coastal areas, and unlike our national bird, it doesn't pose any harm or danger.
As for the bird that videobombed Maymay's drone, Kuya Kim said that it might be still an immature or young bird that was just curious about the appearance and sound of the device.
Meanwhile, a drone, also called Unnamed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is a type of aerial vehicle that has no driver and can be controlled by a computer or remote.
It was first developed by Serbian-American engineer and inventor Nikola Tesla in 1968 for a military mission. He called it teleautomation.
