Repurposed jeep roams the seas in Leyte
A customized jeep in Palo, Leyte, was built not for the streets but for the seas.
Argie Bacor spent five months converting an old jeep into a water vehicle.
“May battery pa rin, parang sa jeep lang talaga. Nilagyan na lang namin ng elesi parang pumpboat,” he said in Kuya Kim's report on ''24 Oras'' on Tuesday.
(It still has a battery, really just like a jeep. We just put a propeller so it can function like a pumpboat.)
The water jeep could carry up to six passengers, but Bacor clarified that he has no plans of renting it out.
“Ginamit lang namin sa pagpasyal-pasyal. Hindi ko man pinarentahan,” he added.
(We only use it when we roam around. I don’t rent it out.)
Bacor also said that he plans to make several upgrades to the water jeep.
“Palitan ko pa ng makina tapos ipatrabaho ko po talaga sa marunong sa pandagat,” he said.
(I’ll be changing the engine and sending it over to a mechanic who knows how to work with sea vessels.) —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
