Tribally touts 'strong' PH gaming community

Tribally touts 'strong' PH gaming community

London-based gaming startup Tribally has set its sights on expanding its presence in the Philippines through its play-to-earn (P2E) model that prioritizes sustainable rewards and improves player experience.

''$TRIBAL, the platform's native token, serves as a key element, unlocking exclusive perks, powering social features like P2P betting, and allowing users to stake their tokens for a share of the network's growth,'' Tribally said in a press release.

''By using $TRIBAL and $USDC as wager currencies, players earn a percentage commission on all wagers placed. This revenue is strategically distributed where a portion goes directly to the players, another supports the game’s ecosystem, and the remainder sustains Tribally’s peer-to-peer (P2P) wagering service, creating a mutually beneficial 'win-win-win' scenario,'' it added.

Tribally’s gaming platform, launched in November 2023, had attracted 70,000 active gamers by the end of July 2024.

The startup's market analyst, "Indes,” disclosed that the majority of their players, supporters, and even team members are from the Philippines.

"The Philippines has an unmatched passion for gaming in general. We believe that the strong community here aligns perfectly with our vision of fostering sustainable, community-driven play-to-earn experiences," Indes said.

In the Philippines, where Axie Infinity became a cultural phenomenon during the COVID-19 pandemic, Filipinos made up about half of the game’s global player base, which peaked at 2.7 million daily active users (DAU).

Tribally was a key player in Axie’s rise by building Axie Tech, a platform used by over 1 million players at its peak. They also developed AxieInfinity.com, the official home page of the Axie Universe, and the official Axie Merch Store.

Meanwhile, Tribally has partnered with local Web3 edutech company Bitskwela to offer a comprehensive on-chain gaming education program for both the general public and students.

The program features online courses, educational content featuring prominent influencers, and detailed user guides on Bitskwela's platform.

Tribally and Bitskwela will also have a university tour in the last quarter of 2024, featuring interactive gaming workshops aimed at equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the dynamic world of on-chain gaming. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
