DICT ‘Beta testing’ government super app
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is now testing an app which can be used for all government transactions for its eventual roll out.
Interviewed on PTV’s public briefing, DICT Assistant Secretary Edwin Ligot said the government will launch a single portal for all government services.
“It is being tested right now. The government’s super app is undergoing ‘Beta’ testing now,” Ligot said.
The creation of the single operating system or portal for all government transactions was approved by President Ferdinand Jr. in early April.
Ligot said the DICT is working with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) to map out the processes of different agencies so they may be collated in a single system.
He said the national ID will be used as a single verification for government transaction done through the government super app.
“They [public] can transact to the government using their cellphones,” he added. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
