Project Xandata: Pinoy-made online shooter enters Open Beta, playable till Nov 28

Pinoy-made Project Xandata, a competitive, online first-person shooter, is in Open Beta from November 12 to 28, 2021, allowing anyone to play the game upon downloading it from Steam.

The Project Xandata servers are open at all times until the end of the Open Beta. Furthermore, players will enjoy a Prestige Pass that allows all progress and cosmetics earned during the Open Beta to be carried over into Early Access and beyond.

Developed by Secret 6, a game development studio based in San Francisco, the Philippines, and Madrid, Project Xandata is a fast-paced, 3v3 first-person shooter inspired by Quake's pace, Destiny's customization, and Mega Man's art style. Each player takes control of a warrior known as a Xandat and participates in an action-packed team battle in a chosen arena.

Xandat classes and playstyle customization

Project Xandata lets you pick one of three Xandat classes to play.

The Agent is stealthy and nimble. They can go invisible or create a clone, making for a sneaky playstyle.

The Juggernaut is all about explosions and in-your-face combat. They come with shoulder rockets and a powerful uppercut ability.

The Marksman is a long-range specialist capable of blinding enemies and keeping them at a distance.

You can further customize your playstyle by choosing from an assortment of weapons and elemental skills. The same weapons are available to all classes from the very beginning.

Maps and modes

The Project Xandata Open Beta comes with four maps, a training mode, and the three game modes.

Skirmish mode is a time-limited race to earn 5,000 points. You gain 100 points every time you eliminate an opponent and you are also awarded bonus points depending on how you eliminated said opponent.

Corruption mode tasks each team with collecting 100 shards, which they gain by killing enemies and destroying obelisks that spawn around the battlefield.

Overcharge mode has each team securing a battery, then bringing it to a Lightning Rod, where they will need to protect it as it charges.

The more you play, the more cosmetic rewards you will earn. You will also be awarded in-game currency you can use to purchase items, including the next pass.

Project Xandata has won several accolades, including Best in Technology at Level Up KL's SEA Game Awards 2017, and both the People's Choice Award and Best Desktop/Downloadable at Game Connection America 2018. It was also voted as the no. 1 most famous Pinoy-made PC game by "Ang Pinaka."

Project Xandata will enter Steam Early Access sometime after the Open Beta. In the future, we can expect the game to feature more content, including additional maps and modes.
