New Japan Pro Wrestling releases racing and dating game with JRA

The King of Sports is not one to shy away from collaborations, and New Japan Pro Wrestling's latest project is proof of that.

NJPW released two online games with Japan Racing Association on the latter's entertainment platform, Umabi, on Thursday under the Shin Nihon Pro-Wrestling Keiba project.

The first game is G1 CLIMAX RACE, a horse racing game reminiscent of the infamously bizarre Japan World Cup 3 where players must race against a host of wrestlers from the NJPW roster.

Clad in a luchador mask and riding an equally-masked steed, players will compete against luminaries such as current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada on a toy rocking horse and his number one contender Tetsuya Naito bouncing off a floating set of ropes.

More amorous players may try their hand at winning the heart of the "Unchained Gorilla" Togi Makabe in an absurdly difficult dating game.

Players can try to woo the sweets-loving, 243 pound of walking wall of muscle by picking the right choices in almost-impossible quizzes and unknowable mini games while avoiding his wrath.

According to a press release, players are entered into a lottery if they share their results on social media.

Players of the racing game can win Y50,000 worth of cash vouchers while players of the dating sim can win a limited edition NJPW t-shirt that can easily be ripped apart.

Umabi released a video showing how to use the limited edition "Makatemo Sukatto T-shirt" with the help of Makabe and gravure idol Yuka Kuramochi.

Umabi also has a collaboration with the half-animal, half-cute girls manga and anime franchise Kemono Friends and several other franchises. — AT, GMA News
