Accel World VS. Sword Art Online release, pre-order details revealed

 

Two popular sci-fi anime properties collide in the action-RPG “Accel World VS. Sword Art Online,” which will be released this July 7, 2017, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, according to Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia.

While physical copies of the game will be available for purchase on July 7, “Accel World VS. Sword Art Online” can be purchased digitally on July 10, 2017.

Bandai Namco also revealed the game’s pre-order details.

Digitally pre-ordering “Accel World VS. Sword Art Online” will give you access to the SAO Origins Pack. This comes with the following costumes: GGO Avatar Costumes for Kirito and Sinon, Knight of the Blood Oath Costumes, and the Fairy Dance Avatar Costume for Kirito. Also, the pack gives you one additional playable character: Sachi.

 

Features

The game features a huge roster of more than 30 characters from both properties.

Players will be able to make use of Alfheim Online’s fairy flight mechanic to soar freely through the skies and confront airborne enemies in aerial combat.

Players will also be able to create teams of 3, which can be composed of any combination of “Sword Art Online” and “Accel World” characters. “Sword Art Online” characters specialize in flight, magic, and sword skills, while “Accel World” characters boast hyper jump, close combat, and “accelerated” abilities.

The story has enough content for over 30 hours of play. Outside this single-player campaign, however, you can team up with friends or challenge rivals in various online multiplayer modes.

 

Worlds collide

Released in Japan in March 2017, “Accel World VS. Sword Art Online” is a crossover of two major Japanese sci-fi properties.

In the story, the virtual reality realm of “Svart Alfheim” and the augmented reality experience of the “Accelerated World” merge, creating chaos for the players of both worlds. As a result, the artificial intelligence Yui , the adopted daughter of “Sword Art Online” heroes Kirito and Asuna, vanishes.

In his efforts to find Yui, Kirito finds out he must engage the Accelerated World’s Seven King of Pure Color in combat. The mightiest ALO Players and Burst Linkers therefore unite to rescue Yui from the villainous Personna Babel.

“Accel World VS. Sword Art Online” features a brand new story written by Reki Kawahara, the celebrated creator of both properties.
