Crash Bandicoot Remastered gameplay preview video unveiled

If you owned a Playstation back in the day and enjoyed most of its exclusive titles, chances are you played Naughty Dog’s hit release Crash Bandicoot – which was a stellar action game that had the title character traversing through the fictitious Wumpa Islands in a quest to rescue his girlfriend from the evil Dr. Neo Cortex.

Released in September 1996, the game would generate considerable amount of success and spawn numerous spin-offs and sequels through the years. More than twenty years after its release, Vicarious Visions and Activision are re-releasing the first three games of the Crash Bandicoot series in a package called “Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy”.

Remastering the games “Crash Bandicoot”, “Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back”, and “Crash Bandicoot: Warped”, the N. Sane Trilogy will be released for Playstation 4 this June and will feature new and scaled-up graphics.

In one new gameplay video released and featured on Gamespot, a stage from “Cortex Strikes Back” features footage from “Sewer or Later”, where the level’s lighting and water effects have been upgraded to make the game look more graphically impressive through PS4 standards.

Character models for enemies have also been bumped up, showcasing that this is not just a regular port of the old games and that Vicarious Visions have rebuilt each game from scratch, including a unified checkpoint and save system that makes it easier for gamers to access their last save point.

Also featuring 4K Resolution and remastered audio, the N. Sane Trilogy looks to be a prime package that Crash Bandicoot fans should not miss.

The collection was first announced on the Playstation Experience in December 3 last year, where Vicarious Visions described the project as a “remaster plus” – where they described that they used Naught Dog’s original level geometry to rebuild the game from scratch.

That means it’s the same ol’ Crash gameplay you remember, but with brand new graphics, sounds, and tweaked gameplay modes to make the experience brand new for a whole new gaming generation.
