Rock Howard makes triumphant return in The King of Fighters XIV

One of the most requested and popular characters in SNK’s fighting game history is making his grand comeback after an absence of many years, as the company has officially revealed Rock Howard as the final downloadable character coming to “The King of Fighters XIV”!

The biological son of the evil Geese Howard and the adopted son/ protégé of Fatal Fury hero and lead Terry Bogard, Rock was adopted by Terry following the presumed death of Geese at the end of Real Bout Special 2 and raised like his own son.

Rock became the new lead character for the final Fatal Fury game “Garou: Mark of the Wolves” – which takes place a decade after the events of the last game and features a new generation of fighters besides Terry Bogard as the only returning face from the series.

Using a combination of skills taken from Terry and Geese’s movelist, Rock is a powerful amalgamation of the two mortal enemies but takes after Terry the most in becoming an honorable fighter in his own right.

In The King of Fighters XIV, he returns in his normal Garou attire – wearing his signature red, black, and white leather jacket in addition to his short black shirt, pants, and gloves. The character’s move set remains mostly unchanged in the new trailer highlighting his return, with the sole exception being a new set of Desperation Moves that fit well into the new system KOF XIV has.

After leaked rumors about the character being were all but confirmed, Rock is officially here to stay and joins Whip, Vanessa, and Ryuji Yamazaki as the four DLC characters joining The King of Fighters XIV post-launch. The game is now available and is exclusive to Playstation 4. — TJD, GMA News
