Pinoy developer makes physics-based game ‘Kick the Can’

Most Played Games, the Philippine developer behind the global hit “Flippy Bottle Extreme!,” is back with a new mobile title called “Kick the Can.”

Like its predecessor, “Kick the Can” employs smart physics to give players a challenging experience that’s difficult to put down.

The goal of the game is simple. Using a chicken-shaped boot, you must kick a can into a target area. If it lands outside said target area, you can try again until you get it right.

To get the boot to kick, you must hold the screen, then let go. The longer you hold the screen, the more powerful the kick. This allows you to control how far the can flies. A short tap will merely tip the can over, while charging for 10 seconds will send it soaring. As the layout and even the size of the target area of each level changes, you’ll need to adjust the strength of your kicks.

“Kick the Can” boasts 100 levels. The more levels you complete, the more characters you unlock, which you can then use to replace the chicken. Characters include a cow, someone whose name rhymes with Schnonald Rump, characters from classic cartoons (such as a stylized Dexter from “Dexter’s Laboratory”), and more.

Most Played Games describes “Kick the Can” as a game “inspired by the childhood game of the same name and a crossover with 90s nostalgia.”

Founded in 2015 by Derrick Mapagu, Most Played Games creates easily accessible games inspired by trends, pop culture, and childhood experiences. One of its most successful titles, “Flippy Bottle Extreme!,” was released in October 2016. It boasts nearly 10 million downloads, and topped several mobile game charts.
