Sony to stop PS3 production, shipments in Japan –report

The official PlayStation website in Japan has announced the death knell for its venerable PS3, indicating that shipments are "scheduled to end soon" for its remaining 500GB model.

No exact date was given, but Japanese gaming news site GamesTalk.net noted that at least one shop has reported that it would already stop receiving shipments in March.
