New ‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’ trailer shows off amazing visuals
We’ve seen a lot of exciting Sony reveals at PlayStation Meeting 2016, such as the PlayStation 4 Pro, and new gameplay footage from “Mass Effect: Andromeda.” Thing is, Sony also used the event to show off the upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive, “Horizon: Zero Dawn.”
“Horizon: Zero Dawn” is a third-person action-adventure role-playing game starring a huntress named Aloy. The game is set in a vast, open, post-apocalyptic world that has been overrun by robots known as Machines. Despite this robotic takeover, a majority of the land has been reclaimed by nature. The video itself shows breathtaking environments lush with gorgeous foliage. It’s incredible to see all that technology side by side with verdant jungles and rocky hills.
Aloy’s weapon of choice appears to be the bow and arrow, although she can also hurt enemies using melee attacks. The gameplay will force players to think strategically, and there are times when stealth will be the key to accomplishing goals. As can be seen in the video, Aloy can slide down ziplines, climb tall structures such as cliff sides and mobile robots, and even hack said robots.
The developer, Guerilla Games, is known for the PlayStation-exclusive “Killzone” series.
Aside from showing off the game, the video is meant to demonstrate the PlayStation 4 Pro’s 4K capabilities. — BM, GMA News
