'Batman: Return To Arkham' officially announced for PS4 and Xbox One

After rumors and leaks pretty much revealed plans for a re-release of two of the greatest superhero games in recent memory, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, DC Entertainment, and Rocksteady Studios finally have pulled the curtain and have officially announced “Batman: Return To Arkham” – an HD remastered compilation of the very first two games in the critically acclaimed “Batman Arkham” series by Rocksteady that includes 2009’s “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and its 2011 follow up sequel “Batman: Arkham City”, both originally released for older consoles like the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

As two games that more than faithfully depicted the Dark Knight and his world as seen in comics and various mediums, the Batman Arkham series is widely known for immersing players into the dark world of Batman and letting them become the Caped Crusader by utilizing his martial arts prowess, detective skills, and numerous gadgets to solve numerous puzzles, advance through levels, and defeat his enemies. The story for both games were written by legendary Batman writer and scribe Paul Dini, and also featured top notch voice acting that included the return of Batman: The Animated Series veterans Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, who reprised their roles of Batman and The Joker respectively. A third game, “Batman: Arkham Knight” was developed by Rocksteady and released last year – seemingly wrapping up the trilogy storyline and Batman’s long crusade against crime in Gotham City.

Set for release on July 26th this year, Batman: Return to Arkham will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One with all previously released DLC for both games included in the package. — TJD, GMA News
