Doom reboot coming in May
More than a decade after Doom 3 was released for PC and later on consoles, Bethesda Softworks and id Software have been working round the clock to deliver a brand new experience for fans of the series to enjoy.
Ever since the publisher acquired id Software in 2009, the game has evolved from “Doom 4” to a brand new reimagining that reboots the franchise and brings it to a whole new level. That game, simply titled as “DOOM”, finally has a release date and will be coming out for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC this May.
Bringing back all the adrenaline rush, carnage, destruction, and demonic forces that have become staples of the series, DOOM will once again put players in the shoes of a sole Union Aerospace Corporation Marine, as he attempts to engage in a one-man war against the forces of Hell and save humanity from the chaos and terror they would unleash.
Bringing back familiar enemies like the Cyberdemon and Mancubus is one thing, but taking them will require fast reflexes and a lot of brutality. Doom fans will be pleased to know that classic weapons like the BFG are in this game, as are melee weapons like the chainsaw. It’s all out brutality and devastation, and gamers will have to dish out punishment relentlessly or get it coming from the forces of hell themselves.
As a first-person shooter that’s now powered by the id Tech 6 engine, DOOM looks pretty sleek and will likely be one of the most brutal shooters out in the video market today.
The game will be out on May 13 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will feature single player and multiplayer modes. — TJD, GMA News
