Superman holds Batman captive in latest BvS trailer

 

It’s been quite a while since the world has seen any new updates from Zack Snyder’s upcoming superhero epic brawlfest flick that is “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, but all that changed when Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment announced that they would be releasing a sneak peek video showing new footage from the 2016 film, which puts Ben Affleck’s Batman in a precarious situation as he is chained and held prisoner by enemy forces led by… Superman?

 

While this is certainly a situation you wouldn’t expect from a hero like the Man of Steel, the scenario does reek of a “dream sequence” that looks to be inspired by Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” and the video game “Injustice: Gods Among Us”. Many comic fans and internet users have already pieced together clues that the Desert clad costume Batman wears is the same one an upcoming action figure called “Knightmare Batman” wears, so this situation is likely born out of Bruce Wayne’s nightmares and paranoid delusions that leaving The Man of Steel unchecked will lead him to become a tyrannical and powerful force no one can stop… Which fuels The Dark Knight’s desire to stop Superman once and for all.

 

Hitting theaters on March 25, 2016, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the second film entry in the growing “DC Cinematic Universe” Warner Bros is envisioning in adapting popular characters seen and published by DC Comics into the big screen. 

 

As a continuation of 2013’s “Man of Steel”, Henry Cavill portrays Superman once more as he continues his quest to be a hero on his adopted home planet. Unfortunately in the wake of the destruction and chaos caused by General Zod’s attack in Metropolis, the entire world is divided in their opinion of The Man of Steel, including billionaire Bruce Wayne who is secretly the retired Gotham City vigilante Batman. Believing that Superman holds too much power to be left out in the open, Wayne reluctantly steps back into The Batsuit to confront the alien presence he deems unstable. This leaves two heroes with very different ideologies face to face… With the entire world as their battle arena and watching who will emerge victorious.
